Erasmus+

Erasmus+ (2022-2023)

Safeguarding Our Young People is an Erasmus+ project built with organizations from Germany, Croatia, Spain and Wales, the latter acting as coordinators. The project aims to raise awareness of how work is being done throughout Europe for the safety of children and young people in situations of harassment. To achieve the objective, three training meetings have been held in the different participating countries and a final closing one, in Wales.

The organisations involved in the project were:

  • Escolapia Salt – school in Catalonia, Spain – visited 12th-17th May 2022
  • Sportkreisjugend Rems-Murr – sports organisation in Baden-Württemberg, Germany – visited 1st-6th June 2022
  •  Hermes – non-formal education organisation in Croatia – visited 24th-29th October 2022
  •  Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of Wales – youth work organisation in Wales, United Kingdom – visited 16th-24th January 2023

Our project ends with the preparation of a handbook that offers resources and proposals for prevention, detection and action in situations of harassment and neglect of minors and an e-learning site.

12th-17th May 2022 – Best Practice Escola Pia de Salt

From May 12 to 17, 2022, the School hosted the start of the Erasmus+ visits. During six days, we gave several talks from various entities: Viki Bernadet Foundation, Social Services, the Mossos d’Escuadra, Escola Pia de  Catalunya and Escola Pia de Salt. The training activity offered is linked to the work carried out by each of the organizations mentioned above: emotional education projects, training for teachers, sexual harassment of minors, criminal consequences in situations of harassment between peers and in minors and action protocols.

1st-6th June 2022 – Best Practice in Sportkreisjugend Rems-Murr

The visit to Sportkreisjugend Rems-Murr, in Stuttgart, gave us the opportunity to meet different organizations that cooperate for the well-being of children and young people. During the training days, we were able to visit schools, sports centers and a youth club and we were able to exchange best practices with everyone. We were also lucky enough to receive a talk about cyberbullying and how to deal with such an obvious  phenomenon today.

24th-29th October 2022 – Best Practice in Hermes

The third visit was to Croatia where Hermes, an NGO in the country, gave us different talks on child protection. During the stay in Zagreb, we were able to share and expand knowledge. We also took the opportunity to start the preparation of the final handbook.

16th-24th January 2023 – Best Practice in Boys and Girls Club

The last visit, and the longest, was in Wales. The organizing body set up different talks in which different local associations that look after the integrity of young people took part. Two teachers from the school and two members of Lleure Jordi Turull were able to participate in the closure of the project and took home resources and good practices to cope with and work against bullying.
